Incase you turn off overlay for the game. I did that and it shows PS4 controlls in game now.everyother game i use steam's support it just make it think its a xbox controller even on somethign like forhonor where ps4 is naturally supoortedGames need to be flaggedby the dev for native support of DS4 with the steam controller API, Otherwise steam assumes it doesn't support DS4 and defaults to the emulation to keep the profile system working.Not every game bothers to do so. When I had my steam overlay off, my DS4 controller wouldn't work. That does happen when overlay is OFF but DS4 support is ON.To use it without overlay,you need to also turn the DS4 support OFF.

Only then it works without overlay.Kurosov's reply is right in regards to why some games might show Xbox buttons even if it supports the DS4.For those games,turn the DS4 support off and just use it natively. Games seem to recognise the DS4 properly in most cases even without using steam. And in the games that have the prompts,it shows them.If the PC version does not include the PS4 button textures at all,then it will show Xbox buttons always unless you mod it and replace the prompts.
